This package offers evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa, as you silently fly over the plains full with herds of wildlife in one of the early morning of the safari. This excursion starts early morning; with pick-up from your either public campsite/Mid-range Lodge or tented camps/luxury lodge and driving to the launch site before the sun rise, on the way you may see some nocturnal animals. Your balloon rises as the sun rises, and the flight takes about an hour or 2 hrs of sheer excitement floating at varying altitude and at times climbing some feet high or more.
After landing, enjoy a traditional champagne celebration and breakfast prepared and served in the bush. Thereafter continue with the day planned activities. It is an experience of a lifetime as you rise with the sun and gently glide through the air in whichever direction the winds of the morning take you. It is an excellent scene as you witness herds of wild animals running across the plains of the African savannah just a few hundred meters below and get an aerial view of every possible corner. Definitely worth it as it will give a glimpse of a trip that you will remember for all time.
Maximum of 16 adults can fit in a balloon at once and balloons safari are regularly in Serengeti and Tarangire, take off from designed site (Seronera area) where the disturbance to the animals is kept to a minimum.
This activity cannot be organized on the day and due to the reliance on favorable weather, it is not on offer throughout the year. It is advisable to pre-book this additional activity for your safari holiday. Price per person is around 500 to 600 USD, which covers the ride, a champagne toast after the landing, and a delicious bush breakfast. The dry season (June to October) is the ideal time for this package. During the rainy months of March, April, and May is not advisable as too rainy or windy may compromise the float.
